Eastern Carolina Community Foundation is pleased to award a $15,000.00 grant to Marion-Dillon County Habitat for Humanity from the Regional Enrichment Fund. The funds will be used to further
Habitat's mission of seeking "A world where everyone has a decent place to live."

Place: Latta Community Center, 429 East Academy Street, Latta, SC
Purpose: We invite all interested members of the town of Latta and the surrounding area to attend this meeting. We will provide general information concerning our
history, mission, and how we select potential homeowners and where we choose to build. We are excited to expand our ministry into the Latta area and Dillon County. We will have a
question-and-answer session at the conclusion of our presentation.
Homeowner Orientation Meetings
Families interested in homeownership are required to attend one of our prospective homeowner orientation meetings in order to process an application. Applications can
be picked up at the following locations:
Marion County:
- Marion Public Library
- Mullins Public Library
- Nichols Public Library
- M-DCHFH Office
Dillon County:
- Lake View Public Library
- Lake View Town Hall
- Latta Public Library
- Latta Town Hall
- Dillon Public Library
- Dillon Town Hall
To apply for a Habitat home you should:
- Live in substandard housing (i.e. no indoor plumbing, leaky roof, poor heating, overcrowded living conditions, unsanitary conditions)
- Have lived in Marion County or Dillon County for at least 1 year prior to applying for a home
- Have a steady income, enough to handle a mortgage & escrow payment ranging from $450/month to $575.00/month (depending upon a 20, 25, or 30 year
mortgage)
- Have shown a willingness to partner with Habitat as determined by a reputation for honesty, a stable and close family, good relationships with neighbors and others
in the community (personal references and criminal records will be checked)
- Have acceptable credit (there will be a credit check). Any applicants who have judgments against them are disqualified
- Be willing to spend at least 300 hours in sweat equity in the HFH program helping build your home and someone else's home
- Show a concern for cleanliness in your present home as living conditions permit. You must be willing to maintain your Habitat home once it is built and be willing to
attend Habitat homeowner meetings
- Have $1,500 for necessary closing costs. You will have some time to save this money before closing if your family is selected
Items Needed When Submitting an Application
- Social Security cards for those who will live in the home
- A copy of the previous year's income tax return
- Your latest 2 pay check stub(s)
- Present and past landlord's names and addresses
- Credit account balances and account numbers
- Checking and savings accounts numbers
- Bank(s) name and addresses
- Three (3) personal references, their names and addresses (i.e. pastor, co-worker, boss, etc. -- NO RELATIVES)
- Two (2) credit references, their names and addresses

Our ReSale Outlet is located at 3153 E. Hwy 76, Mullins, SC 29574. We are open Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM and from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM on
Saturday.

*Please note that all items need to be new or gently used. We do not accept ripped, torn, stained, or damaged items. All electronic items need to be
workable.
If you have items you would like to donate to Marion-Dillon County Habitat's ReSale Outlet, please bring them to our Affiliate at 3153 East Hwy 76 (Next to the Dry
Dock Seafood Restaurant). All contributions are tax-deductible. All proceeds from our sales help us build more decent and affordable homes for families living in poverty within Marion &
Dillon County.
